MSU President Dr. Bob Davies spoke to a combined meeting of the Murray area Lions clubs Tuesday night at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Murray. With members from the Murray Lions Club, the MSU Lions Club, the Hazel Lions branch and the Murray Business Lions branch learned of the importance of continuing the focus on MSU’s student centered approach to education and preparing MSU graduates for real career opportunities in a global environment. Dr. Davies addressed not only the impact of the state’s budget cuts on the university, but the university’s planning involved in managing the cuts as not to impact the high quality of education offered at MSU. In addition, he outlined the economic impact of Murray State University on the city, the county and the region. Dr. Davies also took time to snap a selfie (pictured below) with Lion president McCreary who claimed “he might be the only person in the entire county not included in a selfie with Dr. Davies.”
