The annual Student Government Day is 
sponsored by the Murray Lions Club and Murray State University with the cooperation of city and county government officials concludes each year by a panel discussion by MSU students who try to incorporate the lessons of the experience with the high school students from Murray High School and Calloway County High School. In March 2016 over 30 high school students participated in the event which gives insight into how local government works to benefit the community.
