The Murray Lions Club, with help from several other groups in the community, recently packed 1,000 “backpacks” that will be distributed to underprivileged students that may lack weekend food at home through the Murray and Calloway County Family Resource Center.  Over 40 people participated in the effort, including members from the Murray Lions Club, Murray Woman’s Club, Woodmen of the World, Sigma Chi Fraternity, and the Lions Business branch.  The project was funded by the Murray Lions Club Foundation which contributed $2,500 from its fall fundraiser to purchase items for the distribution.
