The Murray Lions want to thank Perkins Motor Plex for once again sponsoring the half court shot for local Murray area charities at Murray State Racer basketball games this year. The Murray Lions are once again thankful that Perkins Motor Plex has selected the Murray Lions Foundation as a participant in their community giving program and will be shooting for a chance to win $5,000 in support of our community causes at the December 29th Murray State Racer basketball games versus Brescia. If the shot is made, Perkins Motor Plex will donate $5,000 to the Murray Lions Foundation and will provide a minimum donation of $500 if the shot is not made.
Founded in 1939, the Murray Lions have become a state-wide leader in the Lions KidSight program which offers free vision screenings to all area pre-school and head Start children. Last year the Murray Lions screened almost 1,900 children, referring 219 children to local optometrists for evaluation and treatment. The Murray Lions also fund the Murray Lions Community Skate Park and through the Murray Lions Foundation endow 16 scholarships annually to local high school students attending Murray State.
With this half court shot event, along with other charitable programs, Perkins Motor Plex continues to demonstrate their corporate giving commitment to charities in the local communities they serve in Murray, Mayfield, Paducah and Nashville, TN.
